You don’t need a large space to create a welcoming entryway. From elegant marble and marble looks to stylish patterns, these nine small-space tile ideas will help your home make a great first impression.

1. Small Entryway Tile Floor Ideas

Your front door likely sees a lot of traffic, which is why durable, easy-to-clean and low-maintenance porcelain tile is a great option for your foyer floor. Available in nearly any style you can imagine, porcelain tile can withstand whatever you and your family–human and furry–throw at it. This homey entryway features the Baltimore Gris Wood Look tile; its realistic woodgrain details make it an excellent choice for maintaining the natural character of your home. For more durable hardwood alternatives, shop our vast assortment of wood-look tile.

2. Make a Bold Statement Wall

Whether bold and graphic or soft and floral, a patterned tile showcases your personality while protecting your walls from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Nikki Chu Tangier Graphic tile is inspired by the celebrity designer’s popular wallpaper. Made of porcelain, this graphic patterned tile is as durable as it is chic–perfect for stylish households with pets or kids. Shop our wide assortment of patterned tile to find a design that’s uniquely you.

3. Embrace an Earthy Palette

Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere with soothing earth-toned neutrals. This serene entryway features the rich brown Organic Clay Taupe wall tile and the soft, brick-look Jerica Ceniza floor tile. The slightly textured tiles enhance the space’s organic appeal. Shop our collection of brown and beige tiles to achieve this nature-inspired look.

4. Choose Stone-Look for Durable Luxury

If you love the luxurious look of natural stone but want a low-maintenance material that can withstand heavy foot traffic, durable, easy-to-clean marble-look porcelain or ceramic is the perfect solution. This stylish entryway, designed by House of Shima, features the Keystone Grey tile. The striking grey and white veining creates a sense of movement that complements both the cool grey of the table and the warm brown wooden stairs and banister.

5. Small Entryway Foyer Tile Ideas

The entrance to your home doesn’t need to be grand to make an impact. Here, the Star tile creates visual separation between the foyer and the rest of the house. The folk art-inspired pattern is whimsical and homey, providing a moment of levity between the grand door and the hardwood floor that extends down the hall.

6. Keep it Classy With Black-and-White Tile

Like a well-tailored tuxedo, black-and-white tile exudes style and sophistication. This sleek and chic room, designed by Haus of Rowe, features the Laura Ashley Wicker Charcoal floor tile. The dainty, abstract florals add a touch of playfulness to this formal space. Shop black-and-white tile for more classy design options.

7. Choose Tumbled Marble for Rustic Luxury

Want a luxurious look with a bit of an edge? Tumbled marble, like the Meram Blanc Carrara tile shown here, is a high-end stone that has been tumbled with rocks to give it a uniquely rugged appearance. Shop marble tile for a wide assortment of tumbled finishes.

8. Win Your Design With Checkerboard

Checkerboard is a classic design that doesn’t require much space to create a big sensation. This elegant foyer features a checkerboard pattern made of Hampton Carrara and Black Marquina marble, but you can achieve this highly versatile look with any two complementary colored or patterned square tiles.

9. Create a Breezy Coastal Chic Design

The Laura Ashley Wicker Sea Spray tile sets the tone for this coastal-inspired space, designed by Timber Trails. Bright whites and wicker accents complete the beachy vibe, making this the perfect entryway to a stylish, laid-back home. If the past year was all about discovering your personal style and designing home interiors that bring you joy, the coming year will see further individualization with more nuanced expressions of the styles we’ve come to love. Some design staples of 2024–such as artisanal, sustainable and organic materials–will continue to be a focus through 2025 and beyond. Read on for 15 new trends you’ll want to make your own for years to come.

1. Hotel-Inspired Interiors

Luxurious, serene and universally appealing, hotel-style interiors make every day feel like a vacation. This five-star shower features the Pisa Oro wall tile matched with the Kasbah Star Bone and Terracotta Cross for a rich and pampering space. Choose luxe marble- or handmade-look tiles in a warm, neutral palette to achieve this look.

2. Celebration of Pattern

Whether graphic and bold, or soft and floral, we predict that patterns will be gracing more walls and floors. Durable and easy to clean, porcelain and ceramic tiles are perfect for showcasing a favorite print–especially in high-traffic or high-mess areas like a kitchen backsplash. Shop our extensive selection of patterned tile to find a design you’ll love.

3. Picket Tile

A new twist on traditional subway tile, picket tile has gained popularity in recent years, and we foresee it continuing to add pointed charm for years to come. Shop our full selection of picket tile to find a style that fits your space.

4. Curves

Sofas aren’t the only traditionally boxy items turning to rounded edges; curved tile has fewer sharp points, creating a softness to your interior design. Scallops, waves and penny rounds–with their soothing silhouettes–will be featured in more spaces. Here, the Gem by Alison Victoria tile shows how the curved edge enlivens a space with gentle movement.

5. A Focus On Artisan Designs

Both interior design and fashion saw a renewed enthusiasm for handcrafted goods in 2024, and we expect this trend toward authenticity and quality to continue into the new year. Crafted, painted and glazed by hand, each Zellige tile adds one-of-a-kind character to your home. This kitchen, designed by Fox Homes and featuring the Zellige White Gloss tile, shows how the slight variations from piece to piece come together to create an elegant space.

This bright and charming kitchen features white Zellige tile backsplash and open white shelves.

6. Eclecticism

Artfully mixed patterns, colors and materials are what make eclectic design so intriguing. This style rewards the bold and unconventional, as seen in the uniquely patterned Big Sur tile from celebrity designer Jeffrey Alan Marks. The abstract layers of glossy blue patina top a cream-colored matte base, giving the appearance of glazed pottery. Shop Big Sur in its two distinct colorways: Sea Spray (green) and Off the Hook (shown).

7. Japandi

A harmonious blend of Japanese and Scandinavian design, Japandi places significance on soothing colors, high-quality materials and a connection with nature. Choose warm neutral colors and wood-look tile (such as the Nidus Decore Mix tile shown here) to create your personal Zen retreat.

8. Brilliant Blue

From bright cobalt to rich navy to vivid sky, blue in all its hues will infuse our interiors with vibrant, serotonin-inducing vibes in 2025. Shop our wide assortment of blue tile–including the Zellige Azul gloss tile shown here–to find the perfect shade for your space.

9. Cozy Patterns

Charming florals are a cornerstone of some of our favorite emerging trends. “English cottage” and the closely related “granny chic” styles use vintage-inspired plays of pattern and color to evoke the cozy feeling of curling up on an overstuffed sofa with a warm cup of tea. The whimsical patterns in our exclusive Laura Ashley collection will help you achieve this timeless trend.

10. Glass and Mirrors

Reflective surfaces will brighten more spaces in 2025. Mirrored glass tiles add warmth and depth to your space, making them a great choice for kitchen backsplashes or entryway walls. Here, the Patina Siren Mirror by Kelli Fontana tile helps to illuminate this stylish kitchen.

11. Textured Walls

The coming year will be about celebrating all five senses, which means adding tactile elements to your home. Fluted tile, like the Violin Decor tile shown here, adds texture to your walls. Install this tile in your bathroom or shower to awaken your senses at the start of the day.

12. Natural Neutrals

The trend toward embracing the shapes, materials and colors of nature will continue into the new year. Warm browns and beiges reflect the outside world and create a serene and soothing atmosphere. Shop our full assortment of brown and beige tiles to create tranquil spaces.

13. All Things Green

Increasingly recognized as a new neutral, green inspires a feeling of connectivity with nature, making it a popular shade for home interiors. Its versatility in pairing with other colors makes it a go-to tone for a variety of styles. Shop our wide selection of green tile and create your own envy-worthy space.

14. Self-Care Spaces

Making time to be your best self is more than just a trend. Prioritize your self-care by creating spaces that promote well-being. Whether it’s an ultra-luxe bathroom like this Nikki Chu-designed room, or a tranquil shower, having a place in your home that relaxes and revitalizes you will help you care for more than just yourself.

15. Natural Stone

Luxurious and unique, natural stone continues to be a popular design choice. In addition to the ever-popular marble, we predict that travertine will grace many spaces in 2025. Here, Arctic White marble is paired with Claros Silver travertine for a beautifully textured shower.

1. Carmeon Hamilton’s BoHo Bathroom

Carmeon Hamilton, embraced texture and pattern to transform this contemporary beige bathroom into a chic bohemian space. The Zellige Chabone Star and Cross tile features slight variations in size, surface texture and glazing, this and the mix of matte and glossy tile add to the bohemian aesthetic of the room. The handmade-look Riad White tile creates visual interest in the shower with the slight color variance between the tiles. The effect is a rich and vibrant black and white room. The pops of pink and orange in the decorative fans and the natural greenery add just enough color to keep the space fun and lively.

2. Revival 4106’s Charming Plaid Entryway

This 1915 house needed lots of TLC and the couple behind Revival 4106 knew the Cloth Black and White tile was just the thing to revitalize the entryway. The elevated checkerboard pattern of this black-and-white tile creates a simple color scheme that is punched up with the deep aqua stairs and walls of the entryway. The black wire light fixture reflects the thin lines of the tile.

3. Jessica Brigham’s Retro Glam Bathroom

When designer Jessica Brigham decided to restore her 1930s bungalow bathroom to its former glory, she knew The Tile Shop could provide the perfect classic tile pieces for her remodel. The white subway tile, bullnose and black pencil trim follow the original design of this classic home. The simple white and black tile allows the bold statement wallpaper to really shine. The Harlow with Vintage Patina Stone mosaic in the shower niche isn’t original to the house, but the design is reminiscent of Art Deco design, perfect for this glamorous retro space.

Featuring: Imperial Bianco Gloss Subway, Imperial Bianco Gloss REL, Black High Pencil Liner, Harlow with Vintage Patina Stone and Hampton Carrara Hex. Design and Photography by Jessica Brigham.

4. Angelia Gutherie’s Chic Condo Kitchen

The heavy, wood cabinets made this condo kitchen feel dark and constrictive, while the blue tile accent piece created visual clutter. With a modern marble slab design, Angelia Gutherie transformed this open-concept condo kitchen into a bright and airy space. The subtle grey and taupe veining in the Calacata Evora Honed marble creates a wonderful sense of movement and light visual texture that provides the perfect background to the open shelving display. The large-format tiles require fewer grout lines, creating a sleek cohesive and expansive look.

5. The Birds Do Thus’ Classic Marble Bathroom

Amanda Yong of The Birds Do Thus renovated her bathroom to fit the aesthetic of her 1912 home. The Ashford Carrara marble with its bold grey-blue coloring creates gorgeous movement that straddles the line between old and new. The shower fixtures and hardware on the door add to the authenticity of the early 20th-century home. The effect is one of timeless luxury.

6. Jennifer Janeway Designs Transitional Kitchen

Jennifer Janeway Designs gave this kitchen a bright and airy update with streamlined white cabinetry and the beautiful Volakas Large Herringbone marble backsplash. The white with blue-grey veining in the marble creates a visual bridge between the cabinets and the blue of the kitchen island. The tile’s herringbone shape and striking veining add a contemporary flare to this transitional kitchen.

7. Emerson Studios Bathroom

This zen bathroom remodel by Emerson Studios combines warm and cool neutrals. The wooden cabinets are warm and organic in contrast to the Chalk Grey RMB floor tile’s cool, concrete look. The circular globe light and arched mirrors work to soften this design–creating a ying to the yang of the floor geometric diamond shape.

Featuring: Chalk Grey RMB. Design and photography by Emerson Studios.

8. DGK Design & Build’s Kitchen

This dated kitchen needed a modern facelift. DGK Design + Build used our most popular subway tile, Retro Lino, to create a classically timeless backsplash. By keeping the kitchen completely monochromatic, this space is easy to update with the simple addition of some colored accessories.
